A New Chapter of Love

After eight years of grieving the loss of his beloved wife and singing partner Joey Feek, Rory Feek has found love again. In a deeply personal blog post titled “Love Comes Softly” in February, Rory shared his journey of moving forward while honoring Joey’s memory.

Joey passed away on March 1, 2016, after battling cancer for two years. The couple, who shared a daughter, Indiana (affectionately known as “Indy”), had created a loving and strong family bond before her passing. Indy is now 10 years old, growing up in the midst of a profound legacy of love.

In his blog post, Rory opened up about how, over time, he came to realize that finding love again wasn’t a betrayal of Joey. Instead, it was a part of healing, something Joey had actually wished for him before she passed. When Joey’s illness took a turn for the worse, she told Rory, “If I don’t make it… I want you to love again.” Rory admitted that at the time, he resisted the idea. But Joey, with characteristic grace, gently insisted, saying, “You’ll need someone. You and Indy both will.”

The woman Rory eventually found love with is Rebecca, who has been part of their lives for years as the teacher in the one-room schoolhouse on Rory’s property. Despite knowing Rebecca for a long time, Rory explained that it took him years to fully get to know her and realize they were meant to be together.

Indy’s Heartfelt Role in the Proposal

The decision to get married was not made lightly by Rory. He was determined that his relationship with Rebecca would not interfere with Indy’s connection to her late mother. However, much to Rory’s surprise, the idea of marriage was entirely Indy’s. One morning, during a prayer session with Rebecca and Rory, Indy turned to Rebecca and said, “Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa.” She then added, “And I told Miss Rebecca that my Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother.”

With Indy’s blessing, Rory and Rebecca were married on July 14, 2024, in Greycliff, Montana, surrounded by their loved ones. Rory, ever the romantic, shared his vows with Rebecca through a song titled “I Do,” making the wedding day even more special.

This moment marks a beautiful new chapter for Rory, Rebecca, and Indy—one that honors Joey’s memory while embracing a future full of love and hope. Congratulations to Rory and Rebecca as they begin this new journey together!
