In a short video message posted from the family home, Willie addressed the growing concern among Duck Dynasty fans over Uncle Si’s recent absence and swirling rumors about his health.
“Uncle Si is doing better than we expected,” Willie said with a smile. “He’s still complaining, still asking for sweet tea every five minutes — which means he’s definitely on the mend.”
Willie confirmed that Uncle Si had been undergoing treatment for a respiratory issue over the past few weeks, but added that he’s responding well and is in good spirits. Surrounded by family, Si has been resting, joking with nurses, and — in true Si fashion — still finding ways to make people laugh.
“He’s strong — always has been,” Willie added. “But more than anything, we’re thankful for the prayers. People from all over the country — even the world — have been reaching out, and we feel every bit of it.”
